PS 62: The Net-Zero Energy School Tour
Date: April 19, 2016
Time: 3:00 to 6:30 PM
Location:
A bus will depart at 3PM from Union Square (University Place at West 14th Street). After the tour, the bus will return attendees to the Staten Island Ferry Terminal in St. George, and attendees will be responsible for their own transportation from there. Attendees may take their own transportation and arrive to the school by 4PM.

Join us for an exclusive tour of P.S. 62: The Kathleen Grimm School for Leadership and Sustainability—the first net-zero-energy school in New York City. Using onsite renewable sources, this pioneering elementary school is designed to harvest as much energy as it uses on an annual basis.
As the NYC School Construction Authority’s first “sustainability lab,” the building incorporates a host of sustainable features, including an ultra-tight building envelope, daylit offset corridors, a geo-exchange system, a solar thermal system for hot water, as well as a vegetable garden and greenhouse. Come explore this trailblazing school with a curriculum that doesn’t stop in the classroom.
