The Trends in Sustainability forum is targeted for city officials and the
public to become aware of powerful sustainability tactics that may not be
in their foresight. From methods of integrating alternative fuels as a
means to address emergency responses, to using sustainable economic methods
to reframe the way we plan for company growth.



The goal of this month’s forum to highlight the latest wave of
sustainability methods and how they are being practiced, as well as open
opportunities to take advantage of such trends.

Hervé Billiet , Managing Partner at CO2logic Inc

CO2logic is a consulting agency geared towards making businesses carbon
neutral in order to achieving emission reducition standards. Mr. Billet
brings a European perspective to the American market after startign
CO2logic in Belgium a decade ago. Mr.Billet will be discussing the benefits
of a business being carbon neutral and how to achieve carbon neutrality
through a 4 step process.


**Christina Ficicchia, Executive Director at Empire Clean Cities (ECC)*

Ms. Ficicchia acts as the US Department of Energy Clean Cities Coalition
Coordinator for the region. As the executive director,
Ms. Ficicchia develops and executes long-range organizational
goals, provides support and management related to the operations of the
non-profit organization, develops strategies and programs that fulfill its
mission, seeks out increased membership enrollment and funding and promotes
the acceptance of alternative fuel fleet vehicles.

Ms. Ficicchia will be speaking about the Initiative for Resiliency through
Energy in Vehicles (iREV) which is a project in collaboration with NASEO.




**Mariana Torres-Montoya, Principal Economist at The Louis Berger Group*

Ms Torres will be discussing sustainability at the intersection of
transportation and land use planning, where the current innovations taking
place have the potential of generating great change with significant
implications for the future of infrastructure and sustainability practices.
She will analyze policy and the econmics of how to shift from long range
plans when it is recognized that they are no longer effective.
