[SPN-Discussion] ART + PURPOSE: INSPIRING COMMUNITIES TO ACT ON CLIMATE & SUSTAINABILITY WITH THE CREATIVE ECONOMY

Harnessing the creative economy in celebration of Climate Week NYC 2020, the 75th Anniversary of the United Nations, and the 5th Anniversary of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, we are excited to share this global call for artists to participate in GreenPoint EARTH 2020: Screens2Streets (www.greenpoint.earth/screens2streets <http://www.greenpoint.earth/screens2streets>) for a chance to win cash prizes and exciting art showcasing opportunities! 

Presented by GreenPoint Innovations with The Climate Group’s Climate Week NYC, and UN SDG Action Campaign, we are convening a global community of artists and partners virtually to share the climate solutions that inspire them, their art, and their art-making process. Artists will create new works about the 10 Climate Week NYC themes of climate solutions and their links to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Ten artists will be selected for the "Screens" Award, one for each them of Climate Week. The team will also select one artist to be commissioned to paint a new street mural in NYC in September for Climate Week NYC 2020.

Additional support for the mural is being provided by Newtown Creek Alliance (NCA), New York State Pollution Prevention Institute and NYC’s Materials for the Arts.
