About the job

*BROAD FUNCTION:*

The Sustainability Manager will play a key role in advancing our
Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy and programs. The ideal
candidate will think strategically about how to maximize our positive
impact inside and outside of IPG. They will do so by partnering with
internal departments organizing community engagement opportunities,
ensuring continued compliance with all legal obligations and improving on
ESG performance, reporting and accountability.


*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:*

   - Refine, champion, and spearhead the execution and development of IPG’s
   ESG strategy and program
   - Track program resources and KPIs, creating analytical tools dashboards
   aligned to the GRI (Global Report Initiative) standards for our industry
   - Assess new strategic ESG opportunities against available resources,
   priorities, and organizational capacity, and work with management to screen
   and target those with the highest potential to create positive change
   - Work collaboratively with IPG communications colleagues to mine for
   stories, examples and proofpoints of IPG’s ESG track record and impact for
   use in reporting and internal and external communications
   - Find opportunities with external partners, including non-profits and
   IPG clients, on shared ESG initiatives and goals
   - Work closely across various departments such as Controllers, Legal, HR
   and DE&I


Core Skills

   - Knowledgeable of broad trends related to stakeholder capitalism,
   environmental affairs and supplier engagements
   - Ability and experience applying analytical skills to develop
   appropriate organizational responses, programs, and actions
   - Experience working across global business functions and internal and
   external collaborators, and demonstrated skills in generating collaborative
   action and outcomes
   - Experience developing the business case and plan for enterprise-level
   (ESG) goals, including strategic and financial analysis
   - Ability to look around corners and proactively anticipate future needs
   to ensure that IPG excels in this area
   - Proven ability to identify and analyze key trends and issues impacting
   companies and other organizations around ESG issues


*EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:*

   - B.A. or B.S. degree (environmental studies or data science a plus)
   - At least 3 years of professional experience
   - High level of proficiency in MS Office – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
   - Excellent oral/written communication, time management and
   prioritization skills
   - Strong writing skills and interest and/or experience in
   marketing/advertising or client services
   - Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with
   composure
   - Analytical ability required to gather, evaluate and summarize data for
   reports
   - Exemplary skills and attention to detail in producing materials,
   establishing priorities and meeting deadlines
   - Ability to work in fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to
   multitask and prioritize competing tasks and demands
