Expectations & Responsibilities
The program in New York City is a pre-professional experience for students.
The learning objectives
will be tied to pre-professional training and experiences that will allow
students to explore interests
and make connections that will directly impact their vocational choices
after college. For Sewanee’s
students, New York will also instill urban competency. Navigating the
city--its opportunities and
challenges-- will be an obvious difference from a home campus nestled on
the Cumberland plateau. It
will serve as a healthy contrast to their campus experience and might put
into relief features of the
Domain worth appreciating. Global and national issues will also overlap
with learning objectives.
Students will gain an understanding of how New York plays a role in shaping
national and
international policy in a variety of fields.
