While not comprehensive, this "pre-survey" is intended to help us perform some important foundational work by documenting pre-existing views in the SCC community of practice regarding the purpose and content of sustainability curricula delivered at the university level. </span><br class=""><br class=""><span style="font-size: 14px;" class="">By responding to these questions, you will help us to understand the range of views held, and identify any areas of concurrence as well as highlight issues for further exploration through the SCC Online Curriculum Dialogue over the next 2 months. We’ve lined up several SCC Advisory Council members and other volunteers to facilitate the Dialogue. Following the SCC Faculty Conference in Philadelphia on June 26-27, the SCC team carefully reviewed feed back from the attendees, including a request for a mechanism to facilitate an ongoing discussion. The conference included a well-received session on “Sorting Curriculum at the 100, 300, and 500 Levels,” in which presenters offered 4 different perspectives. The suggestion was made that we continue that discussion in greater detail. We agreed. Therefore, in March 2018 we will convene an online dialogue focused on curricular options. The dialogue will be structured and facilitated by several SCC Advisory Council members and other volunteers. The goal of this NCSE initiative, through workshops, dialogues and other activities, is to create a “Consensus Statement” on sustainability competencies. SCC is committed to integration and alignment with this NCSE process. SCC’s contribution will include the findings from the online SCC Curriculum Dialogue convened in Spring 2018. This joint workshop will take advantage of the co-location of the SCC Faculty Conference and the NCSE’s Council of Environmental Deans and Directors (CEDD) meeting in Pittsburgh.
