[SPN-Discussion] request for data on green building standards

Hi everyone,

A colleague of mine is working on a project for a geothermal heat pump  
client. Data on housing starts and existing homes is readily  
available, but he says he has not seen estimates for the percentage of  
new homes being built to "green" standards for HVAC, insulation, and  
other materials. This job is based here in the US.  The numbers he  
needs are:

Percentage of new US homes using "green" technologies
Number of units built or planned to be built using high efficiency HVAC
Sources that could provide this information

Any ideas are gratefully welcome.  I can also summarize the results if  
appropriate for the group?
