Happy New Year to everyone. This first scheduled BRANY meeting of 2009
looks to be an excellent session on the status of e-cycling in New York
City. Please get back to me if you plan to attend!

*Current Trends in E-Cycling*
*We'll be kicking off 2009 with an informative dual presentation on the
current status of electronics recycling in **New York City** and
beyond. Joining
us for our first meeting of the new year will be Lauren Roman, Executive
Vice President of MaSer Corporation, a "materials mining" company that takes
e-scrap that can't be refurbished and returns it to its elemental state, and
Gary Rindner, Vice President for Special Projects at PerScholas, the
long-running electronics refurbishing, recycling, and job training program
based in the Bronx. Lauren will also tell us about EPEAT, a new rating tool
to help those looking to purchase a "green" computer—one that is designed
for recyclability, uses recycled and less toxic materials, and is more
energy efficient. *
* *
*Coffee will be provided; bring your own mug. *
*PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGE IN MEETING LOCATION AND START TIME. *
