Matrix New World Engineering, Inc., a recognized leader in the environmental
consulting and environmental restoration industry, is seeking to enhance its
Land Development and Natural Resource Restoration practice areas and is
seeking an environmental scientist with a specialty in wetland ecology,
and/or restoration ecology. The position is full-time and is located in the
East Hanover, New Jersey office.
Required skills include: A B.S. or B.A. in Environmental Sciences (Ecology,
Biology, Restoration Ecology, Environmental Toxicology or other related
focus) and 5+ years experience. A Masters Degree or Doctorate may be
substituted for work experience based on specific discipline. The
successful candidate must demonstrate experience with state and federal
wetlands delineation/permit experience in New Jersey, New York and
Pennsylvania, mitigation plan preparation and field oversight/supervisory
activities. PWS certification is desirable.
The successful candidate will have a full understanding of wetland
delineation/mitigation, habitat restoration/regulatory permitting and
ecological assessments including T&E species evaluations. Demonstrated
experience with local planning and zoning boards related to land development
issues, experience with project management, budgets, and dealing with
multiple tasks is a plus. Strong technical writing and public speaking
skills, previous linear project experience and knowledge of environmental
regulations such as NEPA, CERCLA, CWA Section 404 requirements, NRDA, state
and local zoning and planning codes are preferred. Experience in the use of
Geographical Information Systems is a plus.
