Buy Recycled Alliance of New York

*. . . and NYSAR3/Region 2 invite you to join a problem-solving forum to
discuss issues related to recycling, environmentally preferable products,
and other environmental issues.*

*Making Film and TV More Sustainable*

*Ever wonder where the sets and props from your favorite TV series or movie
end up after the director yells, “That’s a wrap!”? Two new programs in the
NY area are doing everything they can to keep that material out of the waste
stream. At our May BRANY meeting, Eva Radke will tell us how she moved from
filmmaker to environmentalist when she founded Film Biz Recycling in 2008.
Since then, Film Biz Recycling has diverted more than 60 tons of building
material, set dressing, and furniture from the landfill. Our second speaker
will be Meredith Bergmann, principal at Green Media Solutions and Executive
Director of the Away We Go Project for Earthmark/Green Media Solutions, a
pilot program that not only was involved with recycling set materials, but
also addressed sustainability in the areas of energy, transportation, and
waste in film production. *

*Coffee will be provided; bring your own mug. *

*PLEASE NOTE THE MEETING LOCATION AND START TIME. *
