About the Program

What will the business environment be like as we approach the mid-21st
Century? Why discuss this topic in the first place? Why discuss it now when
companies struggle to survive the severe economic downturn? What about
water, power, and the very buildings companies occupy? The answers to these
questions are the subject of the next chapter in sustainable business.
Planning must begin now if cities of 25, 50, or even 100 million can provide
a hospitable environment -- water, power, information infrastructure,
buildings -- for business. Partnerships and collaboration among business,
government, communities, and technology experts hold the key to these
challenges. Experts from these fields come together on November 6 at Baruch
College to discuss how they are meeting the challenge by envisioning the
future.
