Greetings,

 

            Please register now for Friday's (April 9) NY Funders breakfast,
where Widetronix, will describe its commercialization strategy for its low
power, long life batteries for microelectronic devices. These batteries are
based on betavoltaics, which produces very, very small electrical currents
for over 25 years. 

 

Similar to photovoltaics, these devices collect electrons and turn them into
a current. However, betavoltaics get their electrons from decaying isotopes
using a proprietary silicon carbide diode in a small semiconductor package. 

 

The battery market for microelectronics is massive, including defense,
medical industries and all kinds of electronic devices that can use Ultra
Low Power applications. Market entry is focused on customers in the
Department of Defense seeking low-power, long-life batteries for anti-tamper
applications. Growth is focused on applications in the medical sector
powering medical implants and telemedicine applications. Widetronix is
currently developing a prototype battery to service this market in
collaboration with a major medical implant company.
