About the Program

Dr. Amy Chen of Ping An Smart City Research Institute will discuss the Smart Cities changing China and the technologies behind them. Smart cities use information and communication technologies to increase operational efficiency, share information with the public and improve both the quality of government services and citizen welfare. China sees Smart Cities as the means to overcome the nearly universal challenges of population expansion, traffic congestion, environmental degradation and resource shortages. Over 1,000 smart city pilot projects are ready for or are under construction worldwide and China is home to about 500 of them.



About the Speaker

Dr. Amy Chen is the Executive Vice-President and Chief Scientist of Ping An Smart City Research Institute. In this capacity, she is responsible for Ping An's Smart City promotion, Top-level design, standard development and program development.
