Dear Colleagues,

Through the twists and turns of the pandemic, I want to thank our
colleagues who have banded together to sponsor an evening of
climate education tomorrow night. Please join your state-level solutions
webinar by clicking on your state link here
<https://www.bard.edu/cep/solardominance/powerdialog/>, and following the
registration link. From Idaho to Alabama, Nebraska to New Jersey, and
Bangladesh to Brazil, tune in to learn what are three ambitious but
feasible things that could happen in your state over the next year to
really move the needle on climate change.

The webinars will all be recorded with the links posted here as well
<https://www.bard.edu/cep/solardominance/powerdialog/>, so
climate-concerned faculty from across multiple subjects-- from art to
biology to sociology and philosophy-- can assign them as homework in April
and May, and the #MakeClimateaClass using our teachers guides for multiple
subject areas. <https://www.bard.edu/cep/solardominance/resources/> Please
alert all climate-concerned high school and college teachers to this
opportunity.

Here's the status of the project:

Solve Climate By 2030 <http://www.solveclimateby2030.org/> launches on
April 7, with university-hosted climate solutions webinars in 45 states,
plus DC, Puerto Rico and five international sites: CEU, AUCA, University of
Rio de Janiero, BRAC University, and United World Colleges. The six minute
intro video is here <https://vimeo.com/404103137>. From Idaho to Alabama,
Nebraska to New Jersey, and Brazil to Bangladesh, climate experts from
government, academia, NGOs and industry will tell us three ambitious but
feasible actions that can happen in each locality that could really move
the needle on climate change. In Colorado, for example, Governor Polis will
provide a video-taped introduction.The Texas dialog is student-organized
and features well-known climate scientist Katharine Hayhoe. Solve Climate
will publish the solutions identified in the dialogs on-line this week. In
April and May, teachers and students will be urged to #MakeClimateaClass by
assigning the recorded webinars as homework, and then using Solve Climate's
teachers guides for subjects ranging from art to statistics
<https://www.bard.edu/cep/solardominance/resources/> to have a follow-on
class discussion, The Earth Day Network has adopted the #MakeClimateaClass
campaign and will be working with Bard to promote this opportunity to their
global network of teachers and students. See the social media video here.
