Dear Friends and Colleagues,
The WORLDWIDE Teach-In on Climate and Justice
<http://www.worldwideteachin.org>is back with a call for your
leadership: *help organize
a Climate Teach-In on or around March 29, 2023! *Join us for one of our
launch webinars on Wednesday, September 21st, at 10 AM or 9 PM Eastern (New
York). Register for one of the webinars here.

Last March, more than 350 colleges, universities, high schools, faith
groups and others in fifty countries engaged more than 50,000 students and
community members in a focus on climate solutions. This year, we need to
scale up to 500,000. Our interactive map will be live soon—you can sign up
now with your intent to participate
<https://actionnetwork.org/forms/threehourteach-in-interest-form?source=direct_link&>and
help lead a teach-in for your campus or community.
The biggest threat to our future is thinking that someone else will lead,
that somehow, someone else will solve the climate crisis. If you are
concerned about climate change then now, not next month, not next year, all
of us, together, need to step up.
We are holding* weekly Wednesday info sessions about how to organize a
teach-in, starting September 21. *The sessions will also feature
Professional Development mini -workshops on Teaching Climate for
Non-Experts, led by Eban Goodstein, Ph.D and David Blockstein, Ph.D.
Students, faculty, staff, faith leaders, and all participants can join to
get the tools to #MakeClimateAClass, and to get people talking productively
about climate and justice.
Below, see what’s new for this year. Join us this Wednesday, and every
Wednesday this fall to learn more! Register for the webinars here.

Best for the fall ahead and thank you for the work you are doing,
Eban and David
Co-Directors, WORLDWIDE Teach-In on Climate and Justice.
------------
1. Look for weekly emails from us promoting our weekly info + “Talking
About Climate” teach-in webinars, and providing additional teach-in
updates. Please
encourage climate-concerned faculty and students to attend.
2. In addition to evening extra-curricular teach-in events, this year
we are asking organizers to ask climate-concerned faculty to
#MakeClimateAClass
<https://gps.bard.edu/world-wide-teach-in/our-models>sometime
in
March or April. This way we can reach lots more students. Very simple
model: incorporating 30 minutes of conversation about how their disciplines
are working on
climate solutions, supported by zoom visits from alums or other
professionals working on climate in their field.
3. This can be done by individual teachers, or by teams of faculty who
reschedule a class so they can meet together and #Co-TeachForClimate
<https://gps.bard.edu/world-wide-teach-in/our-models>. The goal is to get
more
faculty and more students engaged. More on our website and at our info
sessions.
4. We are adding Climate Comedy and Climate Theater options! Our Call
forClimate Plays is here.
